Bogo, the quirky and optimistic anthropomorphic Pug, who obtained his abilities to become bipedal and smart as humans, along with the rest of the animal kingdom due to an aerial chemical release on Earth. Consequently, this aerial chemical release, during World War 3, destroyed the entire human population on the planet; thus, animals have inherited the Earth. Also, besides the entire human population being wiped out, selected animals, including Bogo, have developed various forms of mutations by the aerial chemical resulting in some animals having different types of powers. Everything from transforming into the human torch, in this case animal torch, to flying at the speed of light. However, Bogo's mutation is dormant but it could be possible that he possesses one the most powerful power; but Bogo is just a lovable dog who all his life has seen the bright side of things and other beings. Bogo got his name, because of a promotion that would be labeled on his window in the Pet Store, when humans were alive, "BOGO" which meant "Buy One Get One..." so people would always say "Look Mom, it's BOGO!" or "Why can't we get him!? It's BOGO!" Which lead to the misunderstanding that Bogo thought he was BOGO; that's why he is Bogo. Having a tragic past of an abusive owner towards Bogo's mother, resulted in Bogo becoming an orphan puppy and rescued by Humane Animal Associations that lead him to the Pet Store where he lived his life until the aerial chemical release. Throughout the months he lived in the Pet Store, he witnessing the kindness in humans which filled him happiness, quirkiness, and goodness, despite his past and never having the chance to be adopted. Bogo, like the rest of the New Animal Kingdom, struggle everyday to figure out their identity, social structures, prejudice, and the evolution of the food chain in this new world.
